Description:

Uintah is seeking a Land Survey Crew Chief to join their field team in Sidney, Montana. This position is ideal for a motivated surveyor passionate about hands-on fieldwork in the Oil & Gas and land development industries. The Crew Chief will lead field survey teams performing a variety of staking and surveying projects, ensuring accuracy, safety, and efficiency in every project.

Responsibilities:

• Stake well locations, access roads, and right-of-ways.
• Survey and establish section corners and property boundaries.
• Conduct topographic and cross-section surveys.
• Perform slope staking for access roads and well location pads.
• Operate Trimble GPS surveying equipment.
• Maintain field notes and ensure data accuracy.
• Supervise and train crew members in the field.
• Report progress and coordinate with project managers and office staff.
• Adhere to all company safety and quality procedures.
• Maintain and service survey equipment as needed.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Minimum 2 years of experience with Trimble GPS Surveying Products.
• Hands-on experience with boundary staking, well location staking, and section corner establishment.
• Familiarity with Cadastral, Oil & Gas, and Construction Staking.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Must pass pre-employment and random drug testing.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently in the field.

Preferred:

• Experience in Montana or similar terrain surveying.
• Leadership experience as a Crew or Party Chief.
• Knowledge of land survey laws and standards.
